The Millenium Latex Mattress is made with an 18-cm-thick 100% Talalay latex core and offers a uniform feel from top to bottom. The 18-cm natural latex core is finished with a quilted Tencel cover. The completed mattress is approximately 20cm deep. It offers plush comfort, optimum pressure-relieving properties, and muscle relaxation. Talalay latex is a two-dimensional material; it softly embraces the natural cuves of your body, maintaining your back and spine in an appropriate position during sleep. Talalay latex creates an abundance of "hug," giving you a cosy "cradling" sensation.

Natural latex is inherently resilient and long-lasting, retaining its shape and supportiveness for years to come. This makes the mattress an excellent choice for individuals with allergies or asthma, providing a clean and healthy sleeping surface. The Talalay latex is very elastic, feels bouncy and springy, and is better suited if you want a gentler feel with optimum pressure relief.

Talalay latex is made with one comfort zone due to its superior elasticity and ability to conform to the natural contours of the body, and its cell structure is very consistent. The mattress has a uniform feel and a lighter, fluffier touch. The process is more expensive due to its two extra steps and the limitation of the size of the moulds. It is complimented with a super soft quilted Tencel cover that adds a plush and luxurious feel.

The Millenium Latex Mattress is 20cm high, available in soft, medium, or firm support, and is suitable for all intact bedsteads and divan bases. It is very flexible and the perfect match for adjustable beds. It bends easily and follows the body’s contours when the adjustable mechanism is operated.

The latex used in this mattress is certified to eco-INSTITUT; meets the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®; achieved the Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Gold level; and complies with the principles of FSC® to promote sustainably managed forests and ecosystems.

The textiles used in the mattress cover are STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.

The Talalay products and their production processes have been accredited and fulfil the highest health standards.

Eco-INSTITUT certification is a globally recognised label assessing a product's environmental and health compliance, ensuring safety and sustainability throughout its lifecycle, from raw material extraction to disposal. Employing eco-INSTITUT-certified Talalay latex guarantees trust, environmental consciousness, and superior quality.

Our 100% natural Talalay meets Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Gold level requirements for material health, reutilisation, renewable green energy, carbon management, water stewardship, and social responsibility. It is safe, free of any toxic materials that can have an impact on the environment and human health, and 100% recyclable.

The mattress fulfils the human-ecological criteria of the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. The certificate applies to all 100% natural Talalay latex mattresses, toppers, pillows, and covers. It provides a high level of chemical exposure protection for both human health and the environment.

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), a nonprofit organisation, assures that the forests from which Talalay products are derived are responsibly managed. Incorporating health and safety laws, they additionally take into consideration social and economic factors to ensure fair working conditions and traceability across the production process.

More about this product...

Millenium Latex Mattress Feature

Production process: Talalay is a complex contemporary manufacturing method that involves a few additional steps as compared to the Dunlop latex process. Before baking, the latex is whipped into a froth, poured into a mould, sealed with a vacuum, and then rapidly frozen. The key distinction is the freezing stage (-30°C/-22°F), when the round cells break open so they can connect with each other.

During manufacturing, latex is baked at a temperature of more than 110 degrees for about 50 minutes. This process kills all potential allergens.

The natural properties of latex provide an environment free from microorganisms, mites, bacteria, and dust that generally cause allergies and inflammation.

Talalay Latex is 100% natural, certified to eco-INSTITUT, meets the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, Cradle to Cradle CertifiedTM Gold level awarded, and complies with FSC® principles to nurture ecologically sound forest management.

The mattress cover is crafted from Tencel fabric, a natural fibre extracted from wood pulp.

ActiproTM technology protects against allergens, dust mites, and odours, ensuring a fresh, healthy sleep environment.

The textiles used in the mattress cover are Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certified.

Millenium Latex Mattress Feature

Talalay latex is defined as the ‘’Earth's Finest Sleeping Material.’’

Talalay latex is a lavish, luxurious material with a silky feel that fully justifies its premium price.

Responsive bounce: Talalay latex has a responsive and springy quality. It immediately returns to its former shape whenever pressure is applied. The latex material lightly elevates and supports the body, creating a buoyant experience.

Dynamic support: The buoyant sensation contributes to a dynamic support system. The latex adjusts instantly when you move or shift during sleep, providing constant and adaptive support.

Weight Distribution: Talalay latex is known for its ability to distribute weight equally. When you lie on a surface made of this material, it cradles your body and prevents you from sinking or bottoming out. You feel the sensation of floating on the surface instead of being engulfed by it.

Pressure relief: The floating support helps alleviate pressure points by conforming to the contours of the body. This is particularly beneficial for reducing discomfort in areas such as the shoulders, hips, and joints.

Arthritis conditions: The bone-deep discomfort and soreness of arthritis can be managed at night with the soft support of latex. To maintain your body at its peak performance throughout the night, latex cradles and aligns your spine, relieving additional strain on the joints. Softer-feeling latex mattresses will benefit people who encounter arthritis pain.

Breathable Tencel Actipro™ Cover

The mattress comprises an inner cotton cover that protects the internal core. The outer cover is made of Tencel fabric, which is a natural fibre:

  • Responsibly extracted from wood pulp
  • With great strength, efficient moisture absorption, and gentleness to the skin
  • With a soft knitted sleep surface, it keeps your mattress fresh and cool
  • ActiproTM technology is used in the fabric to provide healthful protection against allergens, dust mites, and odours
  • Actipro is an anti-bacterial treatment applied to the Tencel fabric that uses active probiotics
  • Actipro probiotic finish is a safe and effective natural solution for combating allergens without destroying the positive microorganisms
  • During manufacture, the Actipro microflora is attached to the cover fabric using natural clay technology

100% Natural Talalay Latex Core

100% natural Talalay latex with great elasticity offers excellent pressure relief and muscle relaxation, allowing you to always wake up refreshed.

Talalay latex is naturally breathable; its round, open-cell structure helps you stay cool in summer and warm in winter.

This self-ventilation prevents sweating, reduces dust mites, and promotes hygienic, healthy sleep.

"Should have listened to advice and got medium one for husband! Soft one on slatted base is lovely for me but this one was not quite resilient enough on drawer divan, fortunately we had memory foam mattresses topper from previous arrangements so put that under new latex mattress and now it’s fine. "Love this mattress. I am quite small and have slatted bed base so soft is perfect for me. My old mattress used to make my hips ache but this one is like sleeping on a cloud. It cools down really quickly, which is great cos I get hot in bed these days. These mattresses are seriously expensive, so take your time and talk to the store people who are very knowledgeable and helpful. I think they are worth the money; I’ve never had a more comfortable mattress."

Care instructions

Status of the mattress upon delivery

The Millenium Latex Mattress is vacuum-packed and rolled. This ensures mattress hygiene, quality in transit, and improved delivery timeframes. Your mattress was carefully vacuum-packed on the day it was shipped to you. We use one of the newest and most innovative packing technologies in the bedding industry; it neither damages nor impairs the performance of the mattress.

Storing your mattress and how to handle it

Please be kindly advised that we do not recommend storing the mattress in a rolled and vacuumed state for more than 4 weeks, as this will damage the product. Take the mattress out of the box and put it on the bed. Carefully cut the tape that holds the roll together and unroll the mattress while it is in its polythene bag. Please take extreme care so as not to damage your item. It will still be compressed, and you need to cut the bag closer to the heat seal. Take extra care, as the tool you use can damage the cover.

Sleeping on the mattress

The mattress recovers to its full shape and size after unpacking; please allow up to 24 hours for the optimal balance to be reached. However, since it is not a mandatory requirement, you can begin using the mattress right away.

Identifying the top side of your mattress

The side with the big product sticker attached to the cover is the side you sleep on. The Millennium Latex Mattress is a monozoned mattress; there is no head or foot end.

Moving and manoeuvring your mattress

Take extreme care while moving the mattress, as the foam fillings can tear if grabbed or pulled on corners or edges. You can rotate and turn the mattress from top to bottom once every month; this will ensure even wear and tear and prolong its lifespan. The sewn-on handles are designed to assist with the rotation and positioning of the mattress while lying flat on the divan base. Sewn-on handles are not intended for carrying the whole weight of the mattress, and you are at risk of damaging the border's fabric upholstery.

Cleaning your mattress

The mattress covers are not washable. The mattress must be kept dry; therefore, we strongly advise using a good-quality mattress protector at all times. The zip on the cover is solely used during production to easily place the cover on the mattress. We do not recommend removing and washing the cover; if you do, it is at your own risk, and we will not be held liable for any damage or shrinkage resulting from the washing of the cover. The mattress cover can be cautiously vacuumed, including the underside.

In the event that you spill liquid on your mattress and it gets wet, spot clean any stains with a damp cloth, carefully unzip and remove the top panel of the cover to naturally dry until the liquid is evaporated, and then air the mattress core until it is fully dry. The mattress can then be used again. Never use detergents or chemical cleaners on your mattress. This can adversely affect not only the fabrics but also the fillings inside.

Bed-base requirement

The mattress can be used on any bed base—solid top divan, sprung edge divan, solid slatted, or sprung slatted base. The gaps across the slats should be between 2 and 3 inches wide (5 cm to 7.5 cm). Using the mattress with a wider gap could cause damage and invalidate your guarantee. Do not use the mattress on the floor; the lack of ventilation may lead to mould and mildew buildup and invalidate your guarantee.

Latex Sense reserves the right to refuse warranty repair or replacement if a new mattress becomes damaged due to being used on a bed base with inadequate slat gaps, a second-hand bed foundation with insufficient support, or if it is in an unsanitary condition.

Mattress care

Do not let children jump on the mattress; it may damage it and invalidate your guarantee. The mattress is designed for sleeping on; therefore, prolonged sitting on the edge can cause damage and place undue stress on this area of the mattress. The mattress is two-sided; you can rotate and turn the mattress from top to bottom once every month; this will ensure even wear and tear and prolong its lifespan. You can air the mattress every time you change your bed linen to keep it fresh and dry.

Please keep packaging away from children. Please recycle or dispose of the packaging.

If you require further advice, please contact us at 0208 450 7662 or HERE.

How is Talalay latex made?

All natural latex is harvested from rubber trees. The sap, also called latex milk, is transformed into foam through vulcanisation using natural soaps, vulcanising agents, and gelling agents. Our 100% natural latex is environmentally friendly and contains no solvents or toxic chemicals.

Talalay latex is defined as the ‘’Earth's Finest Sleeping Material.’’

Talalay Latex

  • Talalay latex uses a more complex modern process: the latex is whipped into a froth, poured into a mould, vacuum-sealed, and rapidly frozen (-30°C / -22°F) before baking.
  • Freezing opens the round cells, which then interconnect to create a highly breathable, consistent, and elastic foam.
  • Talalay latex has a uniform feel, lighter, fluffier texture, and superior adaptability to body shape.
  • The process is more expensive due to additional steps and smaller mould limitations.
Is the Millenium Latex Mattress non-toxic?

Yes, the Millenium Latex Mattress is a low-chemical product manufactured to recognised safety standards. It is independently tested and certified by organisations such as OEKO-TEX® and eco-INSTITUT, which limit harmful substances and emissions, ensuring a safe and non-toxic sleep environment.

Does the Millenium Latex Mattress off-gas?

No, the Millenium Latex Mattress may have a mild natural rubber scent when first unpacked, particularly with natural latex. This is not the same as chemical off-gassing and usually fades within a short period. Products tested to recognised standards are designed to minimise odours and emissions.

Is the Millenium Latex Mattress safe for people with allergies and sensitivities?

Yes, the Millenium Latex Mattress is naturally hypoallergenic, anti-bacterial, and resistant to dust mites, making it suitable for people with allergies and sensitivities. It is vulcanised at temperatures above 110°C, which helps eliminate potential allergens. While some people may react to latex products such as gloves, it is very unlikely that latex used in mattresses will cause an allergic reaction. Natural latex does not emit harmful fumes. A mild rubber scent may be noticeable when the mattress is new, but it fades quickly.

Note: Those with a diagnosed latex allergy should exercise caution.

Is the Millenium Latex Mattress good for hot sleepers?

Yes, the Millenium Latex Mattress is naturally breathable and self-ventilating, helping to prevent overheating during sleep. It contains millions of interconnected air cells that promote continuous airflow, keeping the mattress fresh and cool throughout the night. Unlike memory foam, latex is not heat-sensitive and does not retain body heat.

For best results, we recommend using natural cotton bed sheets and duvets to create a comfortable sleep microclimate. Together, these features support excellent temperature regulation, enhanced comfort, and deep, restful sleep.

What fire-retardant methods are used in the Millenium Latex Mattress?

According to UK law, all mattresses must meet specific fire safety standards and are required to be fire-retardant. We use natural graphite, a mineral derived from nature, as the only fire-retardant additive in our latex mattresses and toppers instead of toxic chemicals. When blended with latex, graphite creates an effective fire barrier while keeping the mattress safe, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly.

Are adhesives used to bond layers in the Millenium Latex Mattress?

Yes, the layers of the Millenium Latex Mattress are securely bonded using a water-based natural latex adhesive, SIMALFA® 325, which is solvent and chemical-free. The adhesive has Green Guard Gold Certification, complies with environmental regulations, and is proven to be completely harmless. SIMALFA® 325 contains no animal-derived substances, making it vegan-friendly.

What are the features of a Tencel™ Purotex® mattress cover?

The Tencel™ Purotex® mattress cover combines natural fibres with advanced probiotic technology to promote a clean and healthy sleep environment.

Key Features

  • Natural Fibres: Made from Tencel™, a sustainable fibre derived from wood pulp

  • Actipro™ Protection: Uses active probiotics applied with natural clay technology to neutralise allergens, dust mites, and odours

  • Preserves Beneficial Microorganisms: Maintains a healthy balance of microorganisms on the mattress surface

  • Clean and Fresh Sleep: Helps keep the mattress hygienic, fresh, and comfortable night after night

This mattress cover offers a sustainable, hypoallergenic, and hygienic sleeping surface while combining comfort with advanced protection technology.

How should I choose between a soft, medium, or firm mattress?

The choice of mattress firmness depends on body weight, sleeping position, bed base, and personal preference.

Guidelines by firmness:

  • Soft mattresses: Ideal for children and very light adults (up to 9st / 57kg) who enjoy sinking into the bed.
  • Medium mattresses: Suitable for people weighing up to 14st / 90kg.
  • Firm mattresses: Recommended for heavier individuals, as they provide denser support to keep the spine aligned.

Sleeping position considerations:

  • Side sleepers generally prefer medium mattresses, allowing shoulders and hips to sink slightly for comfort.
  • Front (stomach) and back sleepers often find firmer mattresses more comfortable, keeping the spine and back in proper alignment.

Bed base effect:

  • The same mattress can feel firmer on a solid divan base and softer on a sprung slatted base.
  • Always consider the bed base when choosing your mattress firmness.
What type of bed base is recommended for the Millenium Latex Mattress, and is it compatible with adjustable beds?

The Millenium Latex Mattress is suitable for solid divans, sprung divans, slatted bases, and sprung slatted bases, and is fully compatible with adjustable beds.

For proper support, the gaps between slats must be between 2 and 3 inches (5 cm to 7.5 cm). Wider gaps may damage the mattress and invalidate your guarantee. The mattress should not be placed directly on the floor, as poor ventilation can lead to moisture build-up, mould, and mildew.

Latex Sense reserves the right to refuse warranty claims if damage results from inadequate support, excessive slat gaps, second-hand bed bases, or unsanitary conditions.

How long does the Millenium Latex Mattress last?

The Millenium Latex Mattress is made from 100% natural latex, which is renowned for its exceptional durability and longevity. With proper care, it can last between 15 and 20 years or even longer, often outlasting many other types of mattresses. Natural latex has high elasticity and resilience, allowing it to return to its original shape after compression and maintain consistent comfort and support throughout its lifespan.

Is the Millenium Latex Mattress environmentally friendly?

Yes, the Millenium Latex Mattress is made using sustainable construction techniques and eco-friendly materials, making it an environmentally responsible choice. Unlike memory foam, it is designed with minimal environmental impact and fewer harmful chemicals. This makes it a green, sustainable option that supports both comfort and long-term environmental care.

How long is the break-in period for the Millenium Latex Mattress?

All latex mattresses, including the Millenium Latex Mattress, have a break-in period of approximately 30 days. This allows your body time to adjust and properly assess the mattress’s comfort and support. The exact time may vary based on your previous mattress and sleeping habits, so we recommend waiting at least 30 days before considering an exchange.

Does the Millenium Latex Mattress come with a home trial, and how does the exchange policy work?

Every new mattress feels different at first, and your body needs time to adjust. It is normal for the Millenium Latex Mattress to feel unusual during the early weeks, but comfort and support improve as your body adapts.

That is why we offer a free home trial with free exchanges and returns for UK mainland customers.

Home Trial for the Millenium Latex Mattress:

  • The initial home trial period is 50 days from the date of delivery.
  • If you are not satisfied, our sleep experts will offer personalised advice and help you choose a more suitable option or arrange a return.
  • If you choose an exchange, the replacement mattress comes with a new 50-day trial period.
  • If the exchanged mattress is still not suitable, you may return it for a full refund.

This policy allows you to try the Millenium Latex Mattress at home with complete confidence.

How to Return or Exchange:

  • Requests must be submitted in writing (via email) within the trial period.
  • Once authorised, exchanges or returns must be arranged within 14 days.
  • On satisfactory return, we will issue a refund of the purchase price.

Inspection and Assessment:

  • Latex Sense may request an independent inspection by an approved third party, such as ISM Networks (Furniture Services)
  • Inspections assess both the mattress and the supporting bed base

What Is Not Covered:

  • Damage caused by sharp objects
  • Issues resulting from poor bed base support
  • Use on unsuitable or unsanitary foundations

Further Information:

  • Full warranty terms are detailed in Clause 22  of our company policy
