A. No. Dunlopillo is a brand that uses Dunlop latex. We are not Dunlopillo, but we use the same latex supplier for some of our ranges, so you can expect the same high quality.

A. We manufacture all our products in-house and sell them directly to the public, without costly showrooms or advertising campaigns. By cutting out middlemen, we can pass on significant savings, making our mattresses and toppers up to 50% cheaper than similar high-street products.

A. We use 100% natural Dunlop and Talalay latex in our products. Our organic collection features GOLS-certified Dunlop latex sourced from Sri Lanka.

• Talalay Latex: 100% natural, eco-INSTITUT certified, meets OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, achieves Cradle to Cradle Gold, and complies with FSC® principles for sustainable forests.
• Dunlop Latex: 100% natural, ECO-certified, filler-free, meets high functional performance standards (LGA, Germany), and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.
• Organic Dunlop Latex: 100% organic, GOLS-certified, sourced from organically grown rubber plantations in Sri Lanka. Each mattress carries a unique traceable product number.

A. All natural latex is harvested from rubber trees. The sap, also called latex milk, is transformed into foam through vulcanisation using natural soaps, vulcanising agents, and gelling agents. Our 100% natural latex is environmentally friendly and contains no solvents or toxic chemicals.

Dunlop Latex

• Invented in 1929, Dunlop latex is poured into moulds and baked.
• The latex particles naturally settle during the process, creating a denser base and slightly softer top, ideal for mattress support cores.

Talalay Latex

• Talalay latex uses a more complex modern process: the latex is whipped into a froth, poured into a mould, vacuum-sealed, and rapidly frozen (-30°C / -22°F) before baking.
• Freezing opens the round cells, which then interconnect to create a highly breathable, consistent, and elastic foam.
• Talalay latex has a uniform feel, lighter, fluffier texture, and superior adaptability to body shape.
• The process is more expensive due to additional steps and smaller mould limitations.

All 100% natural Dunlop latex mattresses feature a 7 comfort zones structure, designed to provide optimal support for different parts of the body. Heavier and lighter areas such as the head, shoulders, back, hips, legs, knees, and ankles receive the appropriate level of support for a natural, night-long sleep.

How it works: Different-sized holes in the latex create the zones. Larger holes provide softer support, while smaller holes give firmer support.

Zone layout (symmetrical, head to toe):

• Zones 1 and 7 - 30cm (same hardness)

• Zones 2 and 6 - 30cm (same hardness)

• Zones 3 and 5 - 20cm (same hardness)

• Zone 4 (centre, firmest zone) is 40cm

The mattress can be rotated head to toe without affecting comfort. Overall firmness is determined by the density of the latex, not the 7-zone system. This design ensures even pressure relief, spinal alignment, and a comfortable sleeping surface that adapts to your body’s natural contours.

A. According to UK law, all mattresses must meet specific fire safety standards and are required to be fire-retardant. We use natural graphite, a mineral derived from nature, as the only fire-retardant additive in our latex mattresses and toppers instead of toxic chemicals. When blended with latex, graphite creates an effective fire barrier while keeping the mattress safe, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly.

A. Yes, the mattress layers are bonded with a water-based natural latex adhesive, SIMALFA® 325, which is solvent and chemical-free. This adhesive has Green Guard Gold Certification, meets environmental regulations, and is completely harmless. SIMALFA® 325 does not contains animal-derived substances, making it vegan-friendly.

A. The choice of mattress firmness depends on body weight, sleeping position, bed base, and personal preference.

Guidelines by firmness:

• Soft mattresses: Ideal for children and very light adults (up to 9st / 57kg) who enjoy sinking into the bed.
• Medium mattresses: Suitable for people weighing up to 14st / 90kg.
• Firm mattresses: Recommended for heavier individuals, as they provide denser support to keep the spine aligned.

Sleeping position considerations:

• Side sleepers generally prefer medium mattresses, allowing shoulders and hips to sink slightly for comfort.
• Front (stomach) and back sleepers often find firmer mattresses more comfortable, keeping the spine and back in proper alignment.

Bed base effect:

• The same mattress can feel firmer on a solid divan base and softer on a sprung slatted base.
• Always consider the bed base when choosing your mattress firmness.

A. What is comfortable for one person may not suit the other. For couples, the best approach is to select a topper firmness that works for both partners.

If preferences differ significantly, you can choose different firmness levels for each side. For larger beds, UK standard sizes allow two single toppers to be joined:

• Two small singles (75 x 200?cm) create a king-size (150 x 200?cm)

• Two European singles (90 x 200?cm) create a super king-size (180 x 200?cm)

This ensures individual comfort while covering the full bed. 

A. Yes, we can make our mattresses and toppers in any shape or size. We also offer customised firmness options with tailored layers of latex to suit individual preferences. Please note that bespoke products are made to order, so delivery may take longer.

A. Yes. Natural latex is naturally hypoallergenic, anti-bacterial, and resistant to dust mites, making it suitable for people with allergies and sensitivities. It is vulcanised at temperatures above 110°C, which helps eliminate potential allergens. While some people may react to latex products such as gloves, it is very unlikely that latex used in mattresses will cause an allergic reaction. Natural latex does not emit harmful fumes. A mild rubber scent may be noticeable when the mattress is new, but it fades quickly.

Note: Those with a diagnosed latex allergy should exercise caution.

A. Yes. Latex is a naturally breathable and self-ventilating material that helps prevent overheating. Unlike memory foam, latex is not heat-sensitive and does not react to body temperature.

That is why we offer a free home trial with free exchanges and returns for UK mainland customers.

Home Trial for Mattresses:

• The initial home trial period is 50 days from the day the mattress is delivered to you.
• If you are unsatisfied with your mattress, we will provide expert advice and can either replace it with a more suitable alternative or accept a return.
• If you choose an exchange, the replacement mattress can be tried for another 50 days, and you may still return it for a full refund if it proves unsatisfactory.

Home Trial for Toppers:

• Toppers can be tried for 30 days from the day of delivery.
• If the topper does not meet your expectations, we can replace it with a more suitable option or accept a return.
• If you exercise your right to exchange, the replacement topper can be tried for an additional 30 days, and you may still return it for a full refund if you remain dissatisfied.

• 100% Dunlop and Talalay Latex, 100% Organic Dunlop, and Latex Coir / Dual Comfort Mattresses: 15-year guarantee
• Hybrid Latex and Pocket Spring Mattresses: 10-year guarantee
• Latex and Polyurethane Foam Mattresses: 5-year guarantee

How the guarantee works:

• All mattresses are built to precise specifications and come with a manufacturer’s guarantee against faults in materials and workmanship, including sagging.
• Covers visible indentations deeper than 2cm.
• Proof of purchase (original sales receipt) is required.
• Guarantee covers repair or replacement, not refunds.
• After repair or replacement, the guarantee remains valid from the original purchase date.
• The guarantee is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.
• In case of disputes, independent inspection by experts (e.g., ISM Networks) may be requested.

What is provided:

• Repair or replacement if a mattress develops a fault during the guarantee period.
• If a discontinued product cannot be repaired, an alternative product of equivalent specification may be supplied.

What is not covered:

• Wilful damage or neglect: Use a mattress protector and follow care instructions.
• Normal ageing or wear and tear, including indentations less than 2cm.
• Noises from normal use.
• Fabric tears caused by accidents or mishandling.
• Mattress not maintained according to care instructions.
• Repairs by unauthorised persons or without prior approval.
• Mattress cover shrinkage from washing or dry cleaning.
• Damage from inadequate bed bases, slat gaps, second-hand foundations, or unsanitary conditions. 

We reserve the right to refuse warranty claims in such cases but may use discretion if a complaint is justified.

A. Yes. Latex Sense offers interest-free credit on purchases over £400 through Klarna, where we act as a credit intermediary. Credit approval is subject to age and status.

Eligibility criteria:

• Must be over 18 and a permanent UK resident with a 3-year address history
• Employed or retired with a gross annual income of at least £10,000
• Good credit history and a debit or credit card
• Meeting these criteria does not guarantee approval

How to pay using finance:

1. Add products to your basket and proceed to checkout.
