FAQs

Thoughtfully answered questions about our materials, craftsmanship, comfort, and care.

Q. Are Latex Sense mattresses the same as Dunlopillo?

A. No. Dunlopillo is a brand that uses Dunlop latex. We are not Dunlopillo, but we use the same latex supplier for some of our ranges, so you can expect the same high quality.

Q. Why are Latex Sense mattresses and toppers priced lower than competitors?

A. We manufacture all our products in-house and sell them directly to the public, without costly showrooms or advertising campaigns. By cutting out middlemen, we can pass on significant savings, making our mattresses and toppers up to 50% cheaper than similar high-street products.

Q. What type of latex is used in latex mattresses and toppers?

A. We use 100% natural Dunlop and Talalay latex in our products. Our organic collection features GOLS-certified Dunlop latex sourced from Sri Lanka.

  • Talalay Latex: 100% natural, eco-INSTITUT certified, meets OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, achieves Cradle to Cradle Gold, and complies with FSC® principles for sustainable forests.
  • Dunlop Latex: 100% natural, ECO-certified, filler-free, meets high functional performance standards (LGA, Germany), and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.
  • Organic Dunlop Latex: 100% organic, GOLS-certified, sourced from organically grown rubber plantations in Sri Lanka. Each mattress carries a unique traceable product number.
Q. How are Dunlop and Talalay latex made?

A. All natural latex is harvested from rubber trees. The sap, also called latex milk, is transformed into foam through vulcanisation using natural soaps, vulcanising agents, and gelling agents. Our 100% natural latex is environmentally friendly and contains no solvents or toxic chemicals.

Dunlop Latex

  • Invented in 1929, Dunlop latex is poured into moulds and baked.
  • The latex particles naturally settle during the process, creating a denser base and slightly softer top, ideal for mattress support cores.
  • This durable foam can be customised to different firmness levels.
  • Less intensive to produce, making Dunlop mattresses affordable while providing long-lasting comfort and support.

Talalay Latex

  • Talalay latex uses a more complex modern process: the latex is whipped into a froth, poured into a mould, vacuum-sealed, and rapidly frozen (-30°C / -22°F) before baking.
  • Freezing opens the round cells, which then interconnect to create a highly breathable, consistent, and elastic foam.
  • Talalay latex has a uniform feel, lighter, fluffier texture, and superior adaptability to body shape.
  • The process is more expensive due to additional steps and smaller mould limitations.
Q. What is the difference between Dunlop and Talalay latex in mattresses?

A. The main difference is in their density, feel, and manufacturing process. Dunlop latex is denser and more solid, while Talalay latex is lighter, softer, and more uniform in structure.

Feel and Comfort

  • Dunlop latex is commonly used in mattress support cores due to its firmer, more stable feel.

  • Talalay latex is often used in comfort layers, offering a plusher, more cushioning surface.

  • Both materials can be produced in a range of firmness levels to suit different sleepers.

Cost and Value

  • Dunlop latex is generally less expensive to manufacture, which is reflected in more affordable mattress pricing.

  • Talalay latex requires a more complex production process and is usually priced at a premium.

Sustainability and Durability

  • Both latex types are highly durable and sustainable.

  • Dunlop production is slightly less energy-intensive.

  • Natural latex is more environmentally friendly than memory foam.

Q. What are the benefits of 100% natural Dunlop latex in mattresses?

A. The key benefits of 100% natural Dunlop latex include:

  • Feel: Dunlop is firmer and less bouncy than Talalay latex, providing a supportive surface without the “sinking” sensation.
  • Comfort: Offers progressive comfort and sturdy support, even with minimal latex thickness.
  • Support: Combines comfort and resistance, making it ideal for mattress support cores and overall sleep quality.
  • Durability: Long-lasting and resilient, maintaining shape and support for many years.
  • Cost-Effective: Less intensive to manufacture, often reflected in more affordable mattress prices without compromising quality.
Q. What are the benefits of 100% natural Talalay latex in mattresses?

A. Talalay latex is renowned as the “Earth’s finest sleeping material” and offers a luxurious, soft, and springy feel. Its key benefits include:

Q. What is the best mattress for heavy side sleepers?

A. The best mattress for heavy side sleepers is one that provides deep pressure relief for the shoulders and hips while maintaining strong, stable spinal support. Natural latex and latex hybrid mattresses are particularly well suited, as latex gently contours to the body without excessive sink-in and remains supportive under higher body weight. Hybrid designs that combine latex with pocket springs add durability and reinforced support, helping to keep the spine properly aligned. For most heavy side sleepers, a medium-firm to firm feel offers the ideal balance of cushioning and support, promoting comfort, pressure relief, and long-term sleep quality.

Q. What is the best mattress for hot side sleepers?

A. The best mattress for hot side sleepers is one that provides effective temperature regulation while relieving pressure on the shoulders and hips. Full latex mattresses are an excellent choice, as latex is naturally breathable and allows continuous airflow, helping to dissipate heat throughout the night. This airflow is further enhanced, reducing heat build-up while still offering responsive support. The combination of cooling comfort and pressure relief makes latex mattresses especially well-suited to hot side sleepers.

Q. What is the best mattress for back and hip pain?

Q. What is the best mattress for elderly people with back pain?

A. The best mattress for elderly people with back pain is one that promotes proper spinal alignment, reduces pressure on joints, and supports healthy posture throughout the night. Natural latex mattresses, particularly latex hybrid models with pocket springs, are highly recommended due to their responsive support, pressure-relieving properties, and breathability. For most elderly sleepers with back pain, a medium-firm mattress is considered ideal, as it offers the right balance of comfort and support to help minimise strain on the spine and improve overall sleep quality.

Q. Are latex mattresses good for hip or shoulder pain?

A. Latex mattresses are often suitable for hip and shoulder pain because latex adapts quickly to body contours without allowing excessive sinkage. This helps reduce pressure on sensitive joints while still supporting surrounding areas, which is particularly beneficial for side sleepers who place more weight on hips and shoulders.

Q. Are latex mattresses good for back pain?

A, A latex mattress can be good for back pain because it provides responsive support that helps maintain natural spinal alignment. Unlike very soft materials, latex compresses only where needed, supporting the lower back while relieving pressure on the shoulders and hips. This balance can help reduce strain caused by poor sleeping posture for many sleepers.

Q. Which mattress firmness is best for back pain?

A. The best mattress firmness for back pain depends on sleeping position and body weight.

 • Medium to medium-firm is commonly recommended for back sleepers.

 • Side sleepers often benefit from medium firmness to reduce pressure on hips and shoulders.

 • Firmer mattresses may suit stomach sleepers who need extra spinal support.

Latex works well here because firmness can be selected without losing overall support.

Q. Can a bad mattress cause back pain?

A. Yes. A mattress that no longer offers proper support can contribute to back pain over time. If a mattress is too soft, too firm, or has lost its ability to support the body evenly, it may cause the spine to lose its natural alignment during sleep. This can lead to stiffness or discomfort, particularly in the lower back. A well-designed mattress should support the spine while allowing the body’s natural curves to settle comfortably.

Q. Can a mattress be too firm for side sleepers?

A. Yes, a mattress can be too firm for side sleepers. Excessive firmness can create pressure on the shoulders and hips and disrupt spinal alignment. A medium to medium-firm mattress, such as a natural latex or latex hybrid, provides gentle contouring and responsive support, relieving pressure points while keeping the spine properly aligned for a comfortable night’s sleep.

Q. Is a firm mattress good for side sleepers?

A. Firm mattresses are usually too hard for side sleepers, as they can create pressure on the shoulders and hips. The suitable mattress will be one that provides better cushioning and back support, relieving pressure points and promoting comfortable, restorative sleep.

Q. Is a latex mattress good for side sleepers?

A. Yes, side sleepers benefit greatly from a latex mattress. It gently cradles the shoulders and hips, relieving pressure points while keeping the spine properly supported. Its natural elasticity provides consistent comfort and alignment, making it an ideal choice for side sleepers.

Q. Is a hybrid mattress good for back or shoulder pain?

A. Yes, a hybrid mattress is good for back and shoulder pain. It combines supportive pocket springs or high-density foam with responsive latex layers to cushion the shoulders and lower back, relieve pressure points, and provide stable back support.

Q. Are latex mattresses suitable for people with medical conditions?

A. Latex mattresses are not medically evaluated, but they can be tailored to support individual comfort needs. People with back pain may benefit from a firmer latex mattress with fewer layers for added support, while others may prefer thicker designs with extra comfort layers for improved cushioning. Choosing the right latex mattress can help enhance sleep comfort and overall support.

Q. What is the best mattress for sciatica?

A. For people with sciatic nerve pain, which typically radiates from the lower back through the thigh and calf, a deep medium-firm to firm latex or hybrid mattress is often recommended. This type of mattress helps maintain proper spinal alignment and reduce pressure on the lower back and hips, which can improve comfort during sleep.

Q. Are latex mattresses good for asthma sufferers?

A. Latex mattresses can be suitable for asthma sufferers because latex naturally resists mould, mildew, and dust mites when compared to some other materials. Combined with good ventilation, regular bedding hygiene, and protective covers, latex can help create a cleaner sleep environment.

Q. Do latex mattresses resist dust mites and allergens?

A. Yes, latex naturally resists dust mites and allergens due to its dense structure and resistance to moisture build-up. While no mattress can eliminate allergens entirely, latex does not provide an ideal environment for dust mites to thrive and can support a lower-allergen sleep surface.

Q. Are latex mattresses non-toxic?

A. High-quality natural latex mattresses are generally regarded as low-chemical products when manufactured to recognised safety standards. Many latex mattresses are independently tested and certified to standards such as OEKO-TEX® and eco-INSTITUT, which limit harmful substances and emissions.

Q. Do latex mattresses contain VOCs?

A. All manufactured products can emit very low levels of VOCs, but certified natural latex mattresses are tested to ensure emissions remain well below recognised safety limits. Compared to many synthetic foams, natural latex is typically associated with lower VOC emissions.

Q. Are latex mattresses safe for babies and toddlers?

A. Latex mattresses are commonly used for children when they meet recognised safety and chemical standards and provide appropriate firmness. Natural latex is breathable and resistant to mould and bacteria, making it a popular material choice for children’s sleep environments. Firmness and safe sleep guidance should always be followed for younger children.

Q. Do latex mattresses off-gas?

A. Latex mattresses may have a mild natural rubber scent when first unpacked, particularly with natural latex. This is not the same as chemical off-gassing and usually fades within a short period. Products tested to recognised standards are designed to minimise odours and emissions.

Q. What is Organic Latex?

A. Our 100% organic and natural GOLS-certified Dunlop latex is made from the raw sap of rubber trees grown on organic plantations in Sri Lanka. Each mattress is fully traceable with a unique product number. Q. Latex vs pocket spring mattresses, which is better?

A. Latex and pocket spring mattresses offer different benefits. Latex mattresses provide consistent support, pressure relief, and long-term resilience across the entire surface. Pocket spring mattresses rely on individual coils for support and typically use comfort layers to manage pressure. Latex is often quieter, more durable, and better at evenly distributing body weight.

Q. What is the 7 comfort zones structure in latex mattresses?

All 100% natural Dunlop latex mattresses feature a 7 comfort zones structure, designed to provide optimal support for different parts of the body. Heavier and lighter areas such as the head, shoulders, back, hips, legs, knees, and ankles receive the appropriate level of support for a natural, night-long sleep.

How it works: Different-sized holes in the latex create the zones. Larger holes provide softer support, while smaller holes give firmer support.

Zone layout (symmetrical, head to toe):

  • Zones 1 and 7 - 30cm (same hardness)

  • Zones 2 and 6 - 30cm (same hardness)

  • Zones 3 and 5 - 20cm (same hardness)

  • Zone 4 (centre, firmest zone) is 40cm

The mattress can be rotated head to toe without affecting comfort. Overall firmness is determined by the density of the latex, not the 7-zone system. This design ensures even pressure relief, spinal alignment, and a comfortable sleeping surface that adapts to your body’s natural contours.

Q. What fire-retardant methods are used in latex mattresses and toppers?

A. According to UK law, all mattresses must meet specific fire safety standards and are required to be fire-retardant. We use natural graphite, a mineral derived from nature, as the only fire-retardant additive in our latex mattresses and toppers instead of toxic chemicals. When blended with latex, graphite creates an effective fire barrier while keeping the mattress safe, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly.

Q. Are adhesives used to bond layers in the mattress?

A. Yes, the mattress layers are bonded with a water-based natural latex adhesive, SIMALFA® 325, which is solvent and chemical-free. This adhesive has Green Guard Gold Certification, meets environmental regulations, and is completely harmless. SIMALFA® 325 does not contains animal-derived substances, making it vegan-friendly.

Q. How should I choose between a soft, medium, or firm mattress?

A. The choice of mattress firmness depends on body weight, sleeping position, bed base, and personal preference.

Guidelines by firmness:

  • Soft mattresses: Ideal for children and very light adults (up to 9st / 57kg) who enjoy sinking into the bed.
  • Medium mattresses: Suitable for people weighing up to 14st / 90kg.
  • Firm mattresses: Recommended for heavier individuals, as they provide denser support to keep the spine aligned.

Sleeping position considerations:

  • Side sleepers generally prefer medium mattresses, allowing shoulders and hips to sink slightly for comfort.
  • Front (stomach) and back sleepers often find firmer mattresses more comfortable, keeping the spine and back in proper alignment.

Bed base effect:

  • The same mattress can feel firmer on a solid divan base and softer on a sprung slatted base.
  • Always consider the bed base when choosing your mattress firmness.
Q. How to choose the firmness of a mattress topper when sharing a bed with a partner?

A. What is comfortable for one person may not suit the other. For couples, the best approach is to select a topper firmness that works for both partners.

If preferences differ significantly, you can choose different firmness levels for each side. For larger beds, UK standard sizes allow two single toppers to be joined:

  • Two small singles (75 x 200?cm) create a king-size (150 x 200?cm)

  • Two European singles (90 x 200?cm) create a super king-size (180 x 200?cm)

This ensures individual comfort while covering the full bed.

Q. Do you offer bespoke sizes and firmness for mattresses and toppers?

A. Yes, we can make our mattresses and toppers in any shape or size. We also offer customised firmness options with tailored layers of latex to suit individual preferences. Please note that bespoke products are made to order, so delivery may take longer.

Q. Are latex mattresses safe for people with allergies and sensitivities?

A. Yes. Natural latex is naturally hypoallergenic, anti-bacterial, and resistant to dust mites, making it suitable for people with allergies and sensitivities. It is vulcanised at temperatures above 110°C, which helps eliminate potential allergens. While some people may react to latex products such as gloves, it is very unlikely that latex used in mattresses will cause an allergic reaction. Natural latex does not emit harmful fumes. A mild rubber scent may be noticeable when the mattress is new, but it fades quickly.

Note: Those with a diagnosed latex allergy should exercise caution.

Q. Are latex mattresses good for hot sleepers?

A. Yes. Latex is a naturally breathable and self-ventilating material that helps prevent overheating. It contains millions of interconnected air cells that promote continuous airflow, keeping the mattress fresh and cool throughout the night. Unlike memory foam, latex is not heat-sensitive and does not react to body temperature.

For best results, we recommend using natural cotton bed sheets and duvets to create a comfortable sleep microclimate. Together, these features promote better temperature regulation, enhanced comfort, and deep, restful sleep.

Q. Why may a mattress or topper feel hot at night?

A. Latex is not heat-sensitive and does not react to body temperature. If your mattress or topper feels hot, the cause is usually external factors, such as bedding or mattress firmness.

Common reasons include:

  • Bed linen materials: Synthetic fabrics, such as polyester, can trap heat and cause overheating. Using natural cotton sheets and duvets helps create a cooler, more breathable sleeping environment.
  • Mattress firmness: If the mattress is too soft and you sink in too deeply, airflow around the body is reduced, which can result in a warmer sleep.

Firmness Tip:

Lie on your back and try to slide your hand under your lower back:

  • If your hand slides in too easily, the mattress may be too firm.
  • If you struggle to slide it in, the mattress may be too soft.
  • If your hand slides in with slight resistance, the firmness is likely right for you.

Q. Are latex mattress and topper covers washable?

A. The covers of latex mattresses and toppers are NOT washable. To protect your mattress:

  • Keep dry: Always use a good-quality waterproof mattress protector

  • Production zipper: The zip is only for production purposes to fit the cover onto the mattress

  • Do not wash: Removing and washing the cover is not recommended and done at your own risk; we are NOT liable for damage or shrinkage caused by washing

  • Vacuuming: The cover can be carefully vacuumed, including the underside

If a spill occurs:

  1. Spot clean with a damp cloth.
  2. Carefully unzip and remove the top panel to air-dry naturally.
  3. Air the mattress core until completely dry.

Never use detergents or chemical cleaners, as these may damage the fabrics and internal latex. Proper care ensures your mattress remains hygienic, safe, and durable for years.

  • Slat gaps: Ensure the gaps between slats are 2–3 inches (5–7.5 cm). Wider gaps can damage the mattress and invalidate the guarantee.

  • Do not place on the floor: Lack of ventilation can cause mould and mildew, which will revoke your guarantee

  • Follow product specifications: Check the website page of your chosen mattress for individual requirements and recommendations

Warranty Notes

Latex Sense reserves the right to refuse warranty repair or replacement if a mattress is damaged due to:

  • Inadequate slat gaps
  • Second-hand or unsupportive bed bases
  • Unsanitary conditions

Using a proper bed base ensures comfort, durability, and full warranty coverage.

Q. Latex vs memory foam, what’s the difference?

A. Latex and memory foam differ in responsiveness, temperature behaviour, and durability. Latex is naturally elastic, offering immediate support and better airflow, while memory foam slowly contours to the body and can retain more heat depending on its formulation. Latex typically feels more supportive and breathable, while memory foam feels softer and more enveloping.

Q. Is latex better than memory foam for hot sleepers?

A. Latex is generally considered better than memory foam for hot sleepers because it has an open-cell structure that allows air to circulate. Memory foam tends to soften with body heat, which can reduce airflow. Overall sleep temperature also depends on the mattress cover, bedding, and room environment.

Q. What is ECO Certification?

A. The ECO certification is an environmental standard that evaluates products for ecological impact, safety, and sustainability. It ensures products are made using responsible practices, contain no harmful chemicals, and meet strict health and environmental criteria.

Q. What is the purpose of a mattress topper?

A. Latex toppers are designed to add extra comfort and softness to the existing mattress. They conform to your body and relieve pressure points. A latex topper is a great way to improve the comfort of your mattress without having to replace the entire mattress.

Q. Are latex toppers suitable for all types of mattresses?

A. Yes, our latex toppers are compatible with all mattress types, including memory foam, pocket-sprung, hybrid, and latex mattresses. They provide extra comfort and support, as long as the mattress is in good condition.

Please note: if your mattress has a hand-tufted button finish, the topper may fill the gaps between the buttons, which could create the appearance of sagging or dipping.

Q. How to choose between a Dunlop and Talalay topper?

A. When choosing between 100% natural Dunlop latex and 100% natural Talalay latex toppers, consider your preference for firmness, support, and overall feel.

Both Dunlop and Talalay latex are derived from the sap of rubber trees and are equally durable. However, they use different manufacturing processes, resulting in unique comfort qualities.

Dunlop Latex Toppers:

  • Denser and generally firmer than Talalay latex
  • Provide a supportive surface with a silky cushioning feel
  • Excellent value for money
  • Ideal for those on a limited budget who seek extra softness

Talalay Latex Toppers:

  • Offer a plusher, more luxurious feel
  • Highly elastic, bouncy, and springy
  • Provide gentler comfort with greater pressure relief
  • Priced at a premium due to the manufacturing process

Choosing the right topper depends on whether you prefer slightly denser, supportive softness (Dunlop) or plusher, more buoyant comfort (Talalay).

Q. Can a mattress topper help with shoulder or hip pain?

A. Yes. A high-quality mattress topper can help relieve shoulder and hip pain without replacing your mattress. If your current bed is too firm, it may put pressure on your joints, causing morning aches. A topper adds a layer of cushioning and support, helping to distribute weight evenly and reduce pressure points for a more comfortable sleep.

Q. What is the best mattress topper for shoulder pain?

A. The best mattress topper for shoulder pain provides targeted pressure relief for your shoulders and upper body. Your shoulders are wider than your waist, so a firm mattress can push them upward, causing strain. A quality topper allows the shoulders to sink in while supporting the waist, keeping your spine in a neutral, horizontal alignment from neck to tailbone. This reduces pressure points and promotes a more comfortable, pain-free sleep.

Q. What is the best mattress topper for side sleepers with shoulder and hip pain?

A. A softer topper is recommended as it provides more padding and cushioning, which can significantly increase the comfort level of your mattress. It offers a plush sleeping surface, allowing for better pressure relief and contouring to your body. The Ultimate Talalay Latex Topper- Soft Comfort Feel is an excellent choice for side sleepers suffering from shoulder and hip pain.

Q. Why choose the Firmsense Firm Topper for your bed?

A. The Firmsense Firm Topper is ideal for those seeking enhanced support without added softness. If your mattress feels too plush or is beginning to lose its structure, this topper helps restore balance with firm, pressure-relieving comfort.

Made from 100% natural Dunlop latex, it is designed to support spinal alignment, reduce motion transfer, and create a cooler, more supportive sleep surface. It offers an effective way to improve comfort and support without the cost or inconvenience of replacing your mattress.

Q. Which side of a mattress or topper is the top?

A. The top side of the mattress or topper is the side with the large product sticker attached to the cover, this is the side you should sleep on. There is no head or foot end, so the mattress can be positioned either way while still providing the same comfort and support.

Q. Can a latex topper extend the lifespan of a mattress?

Yes! A latex mattress topper can help extend the lifespan of your mattress in several ways:

Protection

  • The topper acts as a barrier, preserving the integrity of the mattress beneath.

Enhanced Comfort

  • By adding an extra layer of cushioning, the topper reduces direct wear on the mattress.
  • It helps distribute body weight evenly and prevents pressure points that could degrade the mattress over time.

Delaying Sagging or Indentations

  • If your mattress has started to develop indentations, a topper provides a more even sleeping surface.
  • While it will not fix severe sagging, it can help delay further damage.

Customisation

  • A topper allows you to adjust the firmness or softness of your mattress to suit your preferences without replacing the entire mattress.

Cost-Effective Solution

  • Investing in a quality topper is often more affordable than buying a new mattress.
  • It can breathe new life into your existing mattress and postpone the need for replacement.

Reduced Wear and Tear

  • With the topper absorbing most of the daily wear, the mattress experiences less direct contact, leading to longer-lasting performance.

Important Note:

  • While a topper can prolong the lifespan of your mattress, it cannot fully resolve deep structural issues or a mattress that is already significantly worn.
  • For best results, rotate and flip your mattress regularly and use a topper together to maximise longevity.
Q. Can a topper fix a sagging mattress?

A. A mattress topper can improve comfort and support, but it cannot fix a severely sagging mattress. Latex toppers are dense and follow the mattress’s contours, so any dips or indentations will still show. Ensure your mattress is in good condition before using a topper for the best support and durability.

Q. Can a mattress or topper be used on the floor instead of a bed?

A. No, do not place a mattress or topper directly on the floor. Lack of ventilation can trap moisture, leading to mould, mildew, and potential damage that may void your guarantee. Mattresses retain heat and absorb dampness at the base, which can harm natural materials and reduce longevity. Always use a proper bed base that allows airflow to protect your mattress and topper.

Q. How long can a mattress or topper remain in a vacuum-packed state?

A. We do not recommend storing a mattress or topper in a rolled and vacuum-packed state for longer than 4 weeks, as extended storage may damage the product.

All mattresses and toppers, except Latex Coir mattresses, are vacuum-packed and rolled. This method ensures hygiene, product protection during transit, and improved delivery timeframes. Each product is carefully vacuum-packed on the day it is shipped using one of the most advanced packing technologies in the bedding industry, which does not impair performance or comfort when used correctly.

Unpacking Instructions

  • Upon delivery, remove the mattress from the box and place it on the bed.
  • Carefully cut the tape holding the roll together and gently unroll the mattress while it remains inside the polythene bag.
  • The mattress will still be compressed. Cut the bag close to the heat seal, taking extreme care.
  • Use caution when cutting, as sharp tools may damage the mattress cover.

Following these instructions ensures the mattress or topper expands correctly and maintains its quality, durability, and comfort.

Q. How long is the break-in period for a latex mattress or topper?

A. All latex mattresses and toppers have a break-in period of approximately 30 days. This allows your body time to adjust and properly assess the mattress’s comfort and support. The exact time may vary based on your previous mattress and sleeping habits, so we recommend waiting at least 30 days before considering an exchange.

Q. How long does delivery take for mattresses, toppers, and pillows?

Q. What are the care instructions for latex mattresses and toppers?

A. Proper care ensures your latex mattress or topper remains comfortable and durable for years. Please follow these instructions:

Moving and manoeuvring your mattress or topper

  • Take extreme care when moving your mattress or topper, as the latex can tear if pulled or grabbed at the corners or edges.
  • Rotate and turn toppers once a month to ensure even wear.
  • One-sided mattresses should be rotated once a month; two-sided mattresses should be turned over regularly.

Cleaning your mattress or topper

  • Covers are NOT washable. Keep the product dry and use a good-quality mattress protector at all times.
  • The zip on the cover is for production purposes only; removing and washing the cover may cause shrinkage or damage and is done at your own risk.
  • Vacuum the cover carefully, including the underside.

If a liquid spills:

  1. Spot clean with a damp cloth.
  2. Carefully unzip and remove the top panel to air-dry naturally.
  3. Air the mattress core until completely dry.

Never use detergents or chemical cleaners, as they can damage the fabric and the latex core.

General mattress and topper care

  • Do not let children jump on the mattress or topper, this may damage it and invalidate your guarantee.
  • Prolonged sitting on the edge can stress the mattress and cause damage.
  • Air-dry the mattress or topper whenever you change bed linen to keep it fresh.
  • Keep packaging away from children and recycle or dispose of it responsibly.

Q. Do latex mattresses sag over time?

A. High-quality latex mattresses are resistant to sagging because latex maintains its structure and elasticity over many years. Correct firmness choice, mattress thickness, and proper support from a suitable bed base all help reduce the risk of long-term indentation.

Q. How long does a latex mattress last?

A. 100% natural latex mattresses and toppers are renowned for their longevity, and their expected lifespan is 15 to 20 years and 10 to 15 years, respectively, or even longer with proper care. They often outlast many other types of mattresses. Latex is a natural material with high elasticity and is also extremely durable. It always bounces back to its initial size and shape after long-lasting deformations and keeps a consistent feel across its lifespan.

Q. Are latex mattresses and toppers environmentally friendly?

A. Yes, our latex mattresses and toppers are made using sustainable construction techniques and eco-friendly materials. You can rest assured that our products are environmentally friendly and green. Unlike memory foam, our latex mattresses are designed with minimal environmental impact, making them a responsible choice for both comfort and sustainability.
